    2008 Silverado won't spin a tire

    2008 Silverado

The truck came with a 4.8L - We swapped in a 5.3L because the 4.8 as a miserable little motor.. lol

The 5.3 is substantially better. The truck, however, will absolutely, positively not spin a tire via power braking.. I'm not sure why this is an issue, it's not something we'd regularly do, but just the fact that it won't do it, makes it a huge problem.. LOL

I Want to see if i missing anything on torque management or trans settings that would keep the truck still limited.

The harness for the 4.8 didn't have the DoD/Active Fuel Management wires in it, so we just ran those this weekend and i turned that on with the stock settings. I'm up for suggestions on getting more out of that too.

Feel Free to throw out suggestions on any part of the tune, its pieced together from lots of reading on here so there's a good chance I screwed something up..

    5.3 Swap
    Corvette Servo
    3.23 rear end

    Attached:
    The Current tune file
a short log of attempted powerbraking
    a longer drive log

I'm starting to worry that it simply doesn't have the power to spin a tire.. :P

If I can roast 31x10.5's from a dig with an I5, you should be able to with a 5.3 .

Have you dialed in your MAF?

Adjust your PE. You have some delay in it, and your PE enable could be adjusted to get into it more easily which may help too.

Set the stall TM endable/disable in the trans 8000 rpm and see if it lets you. If that dosent work add a 100 shot lol... What size tires you got on the truck.

Thanks for the tips guys.. It's still doing basically the same thing.. Foot on brake and gas it revs up to about 2000 rpm and just sits there.. I did manage make it slowly spin the tires a time or two, but it wouldn't do it every time.

    Tires are 275/55r20s

    Alright, further testing this afternoon.

I think it is officially a lack of power problem.

I caught it in a position it didn't immediately lock the rear end and it became a 1 tire fire machine!.. Then as soon as it locked the rear end it stopped spinning and wouldn't do it again..

All the more reason to invest in the Vortech Twin Screw Kit

275/55/20s and a 3.23 gear ratio... you'd need a roots supercharger to spin those tires!

why spend that kinda money on a supecharger? put a 6.0l in it and itll cost less then do work, theres no replacement for displacement

What did you do? Did you get the supercharger? If so, what kind?
