Newbie need help with 4L80e swap in 99' TA..

I'm pretty green to the LS1 cars in general. The 4L60e's aren't holding up in the car and we "think" we wanna go 4L80e.

I was told the car would need a segment swap whatever that is. I found a shop that said they could do it and the car would need to be retuned anyway, segment swap, dyno time, etc. is $600

Is this my best bet or do I have other alternatives?

The car was dyno tuned last year and I'm happy with the way it runs, was hoping I could just do the tranny swap.

IF you have HPtuners, support can do a segment swap for you on your existing tune.

That sounds just rediculous for only a segment swap. Buy HPT if you do not have it and learn yourself.
