Can I dissable passkey 3 in my 97 buick

I have a 97 buick park avenue with the passkey 3 system. Is it worth it to buy the credits so I can dissable the system. My car is having issues with passkey 3 and it wont let it start. My mechanic cleared the codes with a scanner and it fired right up. Its giving him some error that reads " wire communication problem" or something like that. He said it could be the ignition switch or my insterement cluster could be the problem because the fuel and temp gages dont work. Anyways Can hp tunners rid me of this problem or will it still be in bcm and still cause me issues. Is it worth or should we continue to try to fix it right? Thanks

I believe so if you go to system and change security to none. i was able to disable passkey in my buddy's 2007 prix that way.
