    Question OBD|II|2|fuse|ls1|swap|amp|scanner

For those of you who swapped an ls1 into your car what are you using? I've seen everything from 7.5-40 amps. I think something around the 7-10 amp mark sounds right. < 20 amps will drive a fuel pump for christ's sake, I don't think the HPT interface/OBD scanner needs that much current flow.

I searched and didn't find anything useful other than "my cig light fuse is blown". I checked the service manual for my 2001 acura integra and they run the OBD II port off the back up light fuse, which is 7.5 amps. I think I will run the OBD II port off of a 7.5 A fuse and see how it fares.

all depends on what is on the circuit, the cigarette lighter fuse is commonly shared with the OBD2 port, so 10 or 15 amp fuse is good to use.

Remember the fuse is to protect the wire, so size according to the wire going to the circuit.
