    saab 9-3 error erasing vcm?

    Im on toronto and im tuning a customers car and i get an error when it starts to erase/write the pcm...

    basically the error is :

    "erase vcm phase 1 timed out"

    right now my customer is in need to drive his car to another city tomorrow morning. i really need to get this resolved asap

    any ideas anyone?

    this is really messed up and i've never seen any errors like this before

    its a 2007 saab 9-3 2.8T

    so it turned out to be the battery? we unplugged it and let it sit for a few minutes and tried again.. sucess!

    No problem man, 99.9% of these erase phase 1 time out errors turn out to be a battery or wiring related issue from my experience, its basically the software saying it sees a voltage issue and would rather stop the erase portion so you don't risk frying your pcm if it fails after the erase process has already finished.
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    its weird.. i have never had a car that acted like a blackberry... (i.e. pull battery and reboot.. lol) but it seems these saabs are something else lol...
