    permanently remove front 02's?

Question (I searched, but did not find the answer):

If my car has a SD tune and the MAF disconnected, its running open loop all the time, correct? And in open loop, it does not use the front oxygen sensors, right so far? So, can I just remove all oxygen sensors from my car and turn off all codes dealing with the o2's and call it a day? Any ill effects to doing this? I'm still learning to tune my car so please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I was just curious because I thought of running a wideband in one of the front o2 bungs.

Just because your car si in SD does not necessarily mean that you are in open loop...
IF you have set your closed loop enable table to 284* across teh board then it will never reach closed loop and will always be in open loop...

at which time..if you really want to..you can remove the front o2's

I have a buddy here in KC witha solid roller, track only, BEAST....
he is remaining in permanent open loop and has removed his 02's
his o2's were also so close to open air because of location of teh collectors on his longtubes and just running open pipes that there was just too much free air interference...

the only thing you need to be sure of is to Tune your OLFA table...
the stock table IMO is not correct, and I am working on a writeup to fix this...
right now I am waiting on a new wideband sensor to show up so I can continue my researh...
I think I have found a method...just want to be sure before I put up a method for the public

and FWIW... I run an OL tune on my car....Wideband is in the front 02...

Thanks for the info! You're right, my closed loop enable table is stock, so the car is obviously not open loop all the time. What would be the benefits of running open loop all the time versus traditional speed density?

Ohh, and keep us updated on your progress, I'm really interested .
