    Speed Density?

I downloaded the 2bar SD OS from this site. Is this tune a base tune? Do I need to do something else to calibrate sensors before I can run the car?

You need to apply the 2bar os by first applying it in the editor, then doing a write entire. And obviously you need to have the 2bar sensor installed.

I know that much... I am wondering if that tune is ok to run the engine on for a little bit untill its tuned, Or do I put the car on the trailer and take it to the tuner?

Copy your old VE table to your new one. You are only going to use the first half of the new one, obviously, but you can make a decent guess for the second half. As long as you dont get into boost before its tuned you can drive it like normal.

Unfortunatly I haven't learned that much about tuning yet. I just got the car back running about a week ago, I haven't learned how to use the tables yet. I really wanna learn but it is so confusing to me. I just need to play around a bit. I was looking at my timing table and thought maybe adding 2* across the board, but couldn't figure out which table to use or how to adjust it with out changing each block individually.

In that case I would wait on the custom OS, and play with the program some to see how it works and get comfortable with it. You can select more than one square by clicking on a header, or the whole table by clicking on the top left corner.

I did manage to change my idle table, made it 800 across the board. I also have a 99 Vette, if I unlock that car and copy the timing tables from that car to the Chevelle tune, do you tthink it would make a difference? Or be compatible?

You do not need to unlock the 99 vette to copy the table just pull the tune and view it.

So when I put the hpt on the vette and read all, it asks for liscence and credits. Can you explain to me how to copy the tune without using credits?

Read the tune out of the Vette. Save it. It will ask for you to license it, just click no. Then close the file. Open the CHEVELLE file in the editor. Then go to "COMPARE" and "OPEN COMPARE FILE" and choose the Vette file. Now you have the Chevelle file open, and the Vette file opened in the compare feature.

Now you can open a table, and click the "show main file" and "show compare file" buttons and toggle between the two. To copy a table over, first you must be on the compare file. Then just click the upper left corner of the table. It will highlight the entire table. Then right click, and click copy. Then click the "show main file" button. Click the top left corner again to highlight the entire table, right click, and click paste. You can also copy portions of a table in a similar fashion.

BTW, if you're just getting started, it would be a good idea to read up on your help files and tutorials.

...or you could click "Show differences" between the two tables and set that entire table to 0. Same thing as copying it over but a little less cumbersome.

That's a good tip. I usually do it through the "view comparison log" but didn't want to complicate it for him.

Yeah, I prefer to just right click in the comparison log and copy over differences when I need to.

Can I take the 2BAR MAP table out of my SD OS and replace the stock MAP table in the stock tune and will that make the stock tune boost compatible? If not help would be appreciated.

No, the sensors are physically different. A stock 1 bar map will never read boost.

Understood, I have a 2bar MAP GM# 12614973 that physically fits on the truck manifold like the stock one. So if I install this sensor, can I copy the MAP table? Is there anything else that needs to be done? Sorry for the 20?s, just learning this stuff. I lucky I got the engine running, but that didn't take any real tuning...

You need to insatll the sensor and apply the 2bar os at the same time. You can copy over your ve table to the first half of the new ve table
