Here is a screen shot of how the card style MAF works in out for our Gen III setups. I do have a screen in my tube about 6 inches in front of the MAF.
I have a Amsoil oil-less air filter to a 4" OD (96 mm ID) tube to the MAF section, connected by silicone couplers, then more tube to a 90* elbow to a 90 mm Holley TB. Pretty much no restriction to speak of, about a 2 kPa drop.
This is a good pass, I had the timing detuned by accident and also some timing being pulled from a prior tune I was using after I replaced the trans, oops, lost a bunch of timing, I usually run 30* in this thing. 11.7 @ 114 with a DA of 2500.
It shows how smooth the MAF Hz can read, it used to bounce a lot, very jagged, before the screen.
