08 gmc diesel pulling tune n scanner issues?

had a limp code issue so tried Scanner it worked with limited pids.. After a few times though it will not connect anymore.. I can clear codes and check dtc though.. So thought I would try n see if pull tune file and no luck.. What am I missing here? worked with no issues then now nothing? my buddy beta scanner worked but showed -numbers on all pids which was really strange. this is my first diesel messing with and im using the 2.22 software.. it appears it has a dsp5 switch on it.. could this be why as well? help maybe?

Yeah if its using a custom operating system our software will likely not be able to pull the file.

ok ur saying it may be a efi live with new os? i want all this off so i can start from scratch do tell how please? i just purchased truck and want it to stock and go from there..

If its a DSP5 then yes, that is an efilive custom operating system.

only way to put back stock after un installing dsp5 is a current re flash at dealer correct?

I'm not even sure a dealer can reflash over it(they likely lock the dealer out as well)

New Pcm, dealer reflash, then licence with Hpt and retune.

buddy just came by with all his efi live software and could not pull tune either? is anyone for sure that gm can re flash over this stuff to stock or will it require the above mentioned?

Previous tuner probably tunerlocked it.
