to answer the other questions
it depends what is wrong with it. ie. if you fried it by connecting incorrectly (such as EIO inputs/outputs) then you will be charged for a replacement. Other cases will be judged on their particular circumstance, turn around is also dependant on circumstance. eg. if you bent a connector or something accidently then the interface would likely be repaired.
