    2015 Silverado unable to even pull tune

    I plugged in and started the write and all seemed fine until it got to the TCM portion of the read. It tried a few times and then said "TCM security access denied-exceeded number of attempts" and it closed the attempt. Also something strange that I noticed is that it said it was a 2013 as opposed to a 2015.
    Anyone having this issue?

    2015? or 2014
    By chance have you tried to unhook the battery, start it up,make sure everything was ok and then try to write it again?
    A fairly recent HP build?

    man they are coming out with the 2015's early, usually don't start rolling them out until August/Sept
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    Picked it up from the dealer yesterday and claimed it was a 2015. I didn't challenge him on it and didn't have a lot of time. My module is 7 years old, running 2.24.72

    I'll have to try to disconnect/reconnect the battery next time he stops by.

    It's a gasoline 2500HD. Just looked it up and GM's advertising them as 2015's. Damn crazy to be offering a 15 in February.

    BTW the 10th digit in the vin determines the year.
    A=2010
    B=2011
    C=2012
    D=2013
    E=2014
    F=2015

    Well, we can solve the year mystery right now since I took a screen shot of it.

    So is it still a 6.0??

    Kinda dumb if they let you buy a new 2015 two months into 2014 but likely has a build date of 2013 lol.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    No, whats even dumber is they had to retrofit a port fuel 6.0l iron into them because the development plan forgot to include an iron block derivative of the DI for the HDs.

    Yeah, I saw a 2015 DMax truck 2 weeks ago (was at the dealer with my buddy picking up a 2013 5.3 he was buying)...I couldn't believe it was a MY2015 until I read the VIN myself.

    blownblueZ06 shoot me an email asap please, I would like to get this resolved for you asap. Also need to know what engine & trans your truck is using as the 2015 vin cards appear to be incomplete and don't have any info on the 0 engine code.

    Update your software. 72 is an old as hell build. I had the same thing happen on a 2014 CTS-V... It read it as a 2012 and told me the VIN was a mismatch. I was running old software. After an update, it was fine.

    Yeah the software is one side of it but also this isn't an E92 pcm, probably E78. But like you said the software version he is running is likely the key to why the tcm isn't reading, in talking to one of our engineers he said the tcm os id is already mapped in the newest 2.24 build. Still will need to get the file so we can add the vin/os info to the database though even after he reads it.
