This is my Dads 2000 Corvette Speedometer settings. Can someone tell me what rear end gear he has. I thought he had 2.73's but if I'm reading this correctly he has 3.42's. TIA

I know under Current and Final Drive Ratio it says 3.42, but the Calculated Gear says 2.73. I read the help files but they didn't explain. Can anyone help? Someone has to know.

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, why does the Current and Final Drive Ratio say 3.42 and the Calculated Gear say 2.73? This may sound like a stupid question, but I guess I don't understand Corvettes.

Well, either this is a really stupid question or nobody knows. Anybody?
Because the output speed sensor is on the axle shafts things are just calculated differently. Manual trans gear ratio is 3.42 so it may be some kind of center point but I'm sure Chris has the answer.
I haven't spent the time to completely understand the speedo calculation in the Vette yet. Just plug in the right numbers & away you go...

Whats got me confussed is when I type 3.42 in New, the Current, Calculated, and Final Drive all match and say 3.42. If I type 2.73 in New, the Current, Calculated, and Final Drive all match and say 2.73. As you can see above, the stock settings don't seem to follow this pattern.
Maybe Chris can shed some light on this?
