6L90E Harsh lockup with triple Disc aftermarket converter.

Let me first start off but saying i've only noticed this in the CTSV apps. I can probably say I have tuned around 200 6L80e apps with great success with stock and aftermarket converters. The one issue I'm having is on the 6L90E with aftermarket Triple Disc converters. I have adjusted offset and apply ramp and the various things that always need to be adjusted in the 80/90E apps for aftermarket converters. Myself don't mind a firm lockup and even adjust the apply ramp and offset for a aggressive lockup isn't bad at all. Now the problem I'm having is using the same rule of thumb to achieve a firm quick lockup with no slip causes the 6L90E to lock up VERY firm! I can adjust it down where it is now softer but then of course it wants to slip and surge on lock up and little change in TPS% will cause a easy lock and unlock which you do not want.

Just curious if anyone has ran into this. Now when i did talk to the converter manufacturer about this the main issues are the aggressive material and of course it being a triple disc. Was also told the 6L90E pump has a bigger area for the fluid to hit the pump when it locks up which will cause a rush of fluid on lock up and of course a HARD/FIRM lock up.

    Thanks!

Well no worries on this one. I pretty much knew the answer and after talking to a few other guys who have dealt with this "it is what it is" which i figured.

I have a Circle D triple disc in my 6L80 (2800 stall). Any suggestions or recommendations on the offset or ramp apply? Here's a copy of my current tune.

Seems pretty decent. How's the lock up feel? How easy is does it unlock under a load?

The lock and unlock feels good. I still don't like the 3-4 part throttle shift, seems a little sloppy.
