Got this by plugging in the SCT handheld flash device. Hope this helps. It said it was unable to locate the VCM. Do I need any kind of beta software or is this to be expected if it is not any type of ecu that it recognizes?
It would be best to use the beta, then you can try reading with the various controllers we currently support.

That strategy isn't on my list, so I am unsure what PCM type it is.

Is that something I need to apply to get a copy of? I remember getting a copy once upon a time a while back, but currently I just have the latest release installed on my tuning laptop/computer.

Great and done. Is there something in particular that you think would help in reading a Blackoak ecu? Anything I need to do when going to attempt to read it? I know you mentioned using various controls until you find one that works....can you go more into that? Sorry if this is rudimentary, I am used to just plugging into a car and it recognizing what I am tuning.

Well, a step in the right direction. It gathered some information and realized what vehicle year at least. Got the above information today when I drove out today and it gave the following message upon failing to read:

    Controller Unlocker: timed out

Any ideas? It would not read the ecu. This was with 2.25 beta software. I followed the instructions that it gave, turning the key off, waiting 3 seconds, then turning it back on and clicking ok. Just would not read.

Gotcha. I guess I will have to drive back out there and plug into the car again to get a good info log.

I find that when told to wait 3 seconds, cars time out on me if I count to "3 one thousand" lol. If I count to 4 or 5, I never get the timeout issue.

Good to know, I can try that when I go back out there tomorrow. It is just slow since it is not my car and having to drive 45 minutes each time I want to try since the car is currently inoperable and will be until we decide on a tuning solution. He may just have to break down and get the other software if we don't figure something out.

One mustang I did would not work unless I closed and opened the door. Though it was strange but could have been a weird coincidence

I just bought a 2002 Ford Taurus Id love to be able to TURBOCHARGE and tune. Maybe OLSD 3bar?
It only has 155hp, and it would take some boost to get to 400hp. I have attached the tune, and some info.

    Hardware EEC-V Ford
VIN FP522X2188966??? (AND 3 little veriticle rectangles at the end of the last digit)

I also have a Focus SVT. I just installed the latest version but have the same problem. I have been digging, is there a resolution?

    Thank You.

Hi Eric, Just found this list and my 08 MKZ is on it but I can't read my PCM to send you a file. I keep getting the error message "controller unlocker: x11 service not supported" but I am able to use the VCM scanner to get real time gauge readouts. Any Ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Ross Converse

What is the turnaround time on adding a vehicle. I have a 2015 Mustang GT I'm currently waiting on the definition to be added.

If your having trouble with a 2015 GT it probably has a custom/encrypted tune on it already. Do you have an SCT where you can "Return to Stock"? and then read it?
