Licensing a car without connecting to it

Is it possible? Lets say somebody wants to send me a file and I want to edit it and send it back. I would license thier car, but don't have thier car there to license. Without having unlimited vehicle licenses or a license for that model/year, how would I go about licensing it?

at this time no...you would have to either connect to that specific car or find a car thats in the year/model license structure, connect to it & purchase the year license.

so lets say that myself and Shifted have same year/model car. We both have year/model license for 2000 Cavalier (L4). Lets say I send him a file for my car.. Could he modify that... I would think yes being same model/license... Just want to clarify.

It would be a nice feature to have. The cost of buying all 4 cylinder licenses is insane (no offense, but they used the 4 cylinders in a lot more cars than the V8 and V6). For example...

    Cavalier 2.4 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    Sunfire 2.4 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    Alero 2.4 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    Grand Am 2.4 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    Cavalier 2.2 LN2 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    Sunfire 2.2 LN2 (1997-2002, 6 years)
    S-10 2.2 LN2 (1997-2001?, 5 years)
    Cavalier 2.2 Eco (2002-2005, 3 years)
    Sunfire 2.2 Eco (2002-2005, 3 years)
    Grand Am 2.2 Eco (2002-2005, 3 years)
    Saturn 2.2 Eco (2000-2006, 7 years)

And thats not even all of them (malibu for example is left out), so to buy all those model year licenses (57 years times 6 per year 342 credits) * 30.99 = $10,598.58 Would be nice if we had something similar to the V6 and V8 licenses for "all Genx L4"...

your calculations are currently & probably projectively off right now.

Currently if you wanted to buy all I4 licenses available it would run you 192 credits which can be purchased for $6198 but I do understand your frustration...but like Soundengineer already stated they are still releasing a shitton of I4 licenses weekly...once the dust settles im sure they will put a reasonably affordable pkg together for I4 tunershops.

Woah.. you have a TON of duplicates there..

Each Year/Model license activated will allow you to tune an unlimited number of vehicles of that specific year/model combination.

    97-05Chevy Cavalier 2.2, 2.4

When we list that on our orders page, thats 9 year models.. not 18 because we have 2 seperate engines...

Its year/model as is listed on our orders page. Not year/model/engine.

For L4 cars, we currently have:
    97-05 Chevy Cavalier 2.2, 2.4
    97-05 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2, 2.4
    97-05 Pontiac Grand Am 2.2, 2.4
    00-04 Oldsmobile Alero 2.2, 2.4

Thats only 32 year/model licenses for the L4 car group.

We have WAY more V6 year/models than we do L4's.

    Using Credits

    Hi all,

I have six available credits to use. My intention is for two of them to be used on a specific Gen III, so that is two credits. I now understand (from this thread) that I will have to connect to it, which is cool, no worries there. The other four were purchased with the intention of purchasing the 'unlimited 1Bar SD Enhanced for all LS1s - My upgrade page said I needed four so I now have four spare to use (six actually, but two are for LS1 licence).

My question is how do I activate that licence, unlimited 1Bar SD Enhanced so that it appears in my current licences. I have the credits I just don't know how to use them

when you go to load a 1 bar OS tune into the LS1 it'll prompt you for how you want to license it (single vehicle or unlimited)

    Cheers

    Horist,

Thanks for that, I just didn't want to get to the car and then not be able to be licenced for it or use the credits other than I had intended.

    Cheers
