Just to be sure here, you should have Autostick WOT set to Enabled. This means at WOT (when the WOT pedal thresh is exceeded, Autostick mode will not disengage).
Does it only downshift at lower RPM?
You can also see what is happening here in the scanner by logging:
- Trans Shift Mode
- WOT Shift (bit)
- Trans Pedal Position
- Trans Output Shaft RPM
- Downshift (bit)
If you can confirm that Trans Shift Mode = Manual and WOT Shift = Yes during the downshift.

After looking at the code again, it seems the WOT Normal Downshift table is also used during Autostick WOT. So you will need to lower those to prevent automatic downshifts.
Autostick WOT will not upshift (unless the TCM Max Engine Speed is exceeded), but downshifts will occur normally, with the specific coasting (no throttle) Autostick tables.
Sorry for this confusion!

Chris:
I have noticed in TCM's that will not downshift when going to WOT that the switch in the software shows that it should. There is for sure a table selection for it we must just be missing it. I have been able to resolve the issue before hand by re-configuring the module before I read it out for adjustments.
Hope this helps

Yea these switches are confusing me too. Seems like the AUTO SHIFT PROPERTIES>GENERAL>WOT>WOT Enable should be the switch to decide if you want it to be able to downshift at all which in autostick mode. My read shows this enabled, but I know for a fact it NEVER ever downshifts when in autostick and pedal is to the floor. It only downshifts coasting.
I think this is what AJ was pointing out, there is another table missing.
Thanks for the reply, I just want to clarify are you saying the trans doesn't AUTOMATICALLY downshift in autostick mode at WOT even when you are clearly in too high gear? Or the trans doesn't MANUALLY downshift when you try to downshift using autostick at WOT? Or both?
Initially I added these switches so people could enable or disable automatic upshifts when in autostick mode, which from all reports is working fine. There might be a few extra params needed for the downshifts. If you can email me a tune and scanner log file when you think it should be downshifting including the PIDs below it will help.
- Trans Shift Mode
- WOT Shift (bit)
- Trans Pedal Position
- Trans Output Shaft RPM
- Downshift (bit)
- Trans Current Gear
- Trans Selected Gear

If your in AUTO STICK and select 5th gear at 2000 rpm on the dyno or road and smash the throttle to the floor you will NOT get any downshift. The SRT's all have this feature. 5.7 and v6 you would get a downshift under the same conditions. It is all configurable as well outside of the calibration. In my testing it seems that that area is not being referenced yet.
Hope this helps

The switches work like this:
WOT: If enabled, WOT shift tables will be used instead of the Normal/Performance tables, if disabled the regular tables will be used for WOT as well as part throttle shifts
Autostick WOT: If enabled, Autostick mode will stay engaged at WOT (no automatic upshifting will occur), if disabled the regular or WOT shift tables will be used at WOT as per the description above.
If Autostick WOT is enabled and you are in autostick mode, no upshifts will occur, it seems downshifts will only occur below the coasting downshift speed table at any pedal % AND also must be below the WOT downshift speed table (if not coasting).
If you could check that downshifts do occur when these conditions are met that would be great.

Yes, I confirm.
Wot downshift is 4->3 value is 3650 meaning 5146 rpm.
It downshift even 4->2 at 2500 rpm wot.
btw, Under which conditions is enable the Performance Driving Factor ?
I'm very curious about the 0.00388 value

performance driving factor (if enabled) is active anytime you are not in WOT or Autostick mode, you can log the factor in the scanner. The coefficients weight the effects of each of the terms that give the final factor.

Wanted to clarify on the EGS53, I see there is a TCM RPM Limit in the General tab, which says it is an RPM that the TCM will force an upshift. To me this is the function of having the trans still shift even when in Autostick mode.
Seems redundant to the Autostick WOT; in my read I have the TCM RPM Limit set to 6500 and Autostick WOT set to enable, and car shifts right at 6500 every gear.
Question is if I set the Autostick WOT to disable, and TCM RPM Limit to something really high, will it then still shift on its own in Autostick mode at my WOT shift set points?
Yes the TCM RPM Limit is a catch all, it will force an upshift in every mode. If it is set below the RPM limit of the engine the trans will upshift, if the engine hits the ECM RPM Limit before this TCM RPM Limit then no upshift will happen, the engine will just stay on the limiter. The TCM RPM Limit is also used to prevent downshifts that will result in the lower gear exceeding this RPM limit. The code calculates the expected engine RPM of the lower gear and makes the check.
If you set autostick WOT to disable, then the shift tables that will be used depend on the WOT switch (as described above). The TCM RPM Limit is also checked for safety but if it is above the other shift points it will not factor in.

Got it...
Seems like this is the way to have a different Autostick versus D mode WOT rpm limit, which is a nice to have. Let me explain...
Customer wants the shift RPMs to be 6200 when in drive
Wants Autostick to autoupshift, and do so at 6700rpms
I would set WOT shift tables to 6200rpms
Set WOT to Enable
Set Autostick to Enable
Set TCM limit to 6700 rpms
Nice to have feature
As of today's build, we added another switch under Autostick. If enabled in your tune, please test it and see if that takes care of your auto shifting.
Sorry to dig up an old thread but I will have my first A580 (14 channenger RT) on the dyno in 2 day's and I'm researching this a head of time so I won't run into this problem on the dyno. Anyone ever come up with a definitive answer for the kick down issue that works?

So dyno'd a 14 challenger last night, no kick down, used the TCS disable in the bidirectional controls and it went pretty smooth except for shifting at 5500 no matter what I did. It ended up being ok though because the cam was done at 5300rpm.

I am trying to disable automatic upshift in my 2016 JK, I tried all of the above ( ECM RPM limit lower than TCM RPM limit by at least 500RPM) and both Autostick/ Auto Upshift and Autostick/ Autostick WOT switches are disabled with no luck
can someone help me out with this issue
If you've already tripped all the lights you need to unstrap it, take a short drive and make all the lights go out. Strap back off and only disable TCS with the bidirectional controls and put it in manual shift mode and it should hold. Don't forget to set your rpm limiter a little higher than what you want to make a pull to & don't forget to raise the tcm rpm limit on the trans side as well.
