    2016 Camaro SS / E85

So according to CMS there is an issue with the 2016 Camaro SS ECM when trying to utilize the physical ethanol sensor. It will not read past a certain percentage. I was about to install the sensor on my car but with this info I opted not to chase it. What I did attempt to try was the virtual sensor. I enabled it, changed the stoich table and saw the ethanol percentage change over the course of a few miles. It was very close to what I calculated it should be for the E10 / E85 (51.2%) mix I had in the tank. The fuel trims fell into line.

Here's where things didn't work out so well...

    1. I noticed that when I was supposed to be in PE mode the EQ ratio commanded stayed at 1.000.

    2. It did not appear any of the flex fuel timing adders were being utilized.

    3. The reported fuel type in the scanner was "Gas"

I could not find any tables that needed to be altered. Has anyone run into this before? Any suggestions on getting it to use the alcohol tables?

    Thanks,
    Tim

You need to add the physical sensor for this to work correctly...
I have not done this on the LT1 Camaro, but I have on my vette/truck and from what I can tell nothing is different.

Fix your PE settings and it will go into PE mode

CMS is claiming there is a bug that prevents the ECM from reading the sensor correctly on the 16 Camaro. Until someone else proves it is working I'm not going to mess with it.

I'm looking at the PE settings but I'm not sure what is wrong there. The only thing changed on this version was the enablement of the virtual sensor. The PE tables were untouched. I can't see anything that would allow PE before but not after the virtual enablement.

    Thanks for looking at this.

Tim, my guess would be that the torque model was changed by enabling virtual sensor. Takes it out of the range of the PE torque enable. Knock that down and see if it will enter PE.

Thanks man. I'll pick this effort up sometime in the next couple of weeks. I will be in this Wednesday morning to do some tuning.
