    OBD2 Extension

On my 03 Vette, it is very annoying to have the cable come straight down between my legs. It makes getting in and out difficult and I end up routing the cable over the steering column.

I would love to find either an extension or a replacement that comes out of the plug at a 90* angle to the right. I have a PC based OBD2 reader that uses a cable that does this. I could then run the cable through the center consol and out the passenger side.

Has anybody seen anything like this?

That, and i hate when they stick them wayyyy back up under the dash. Back in august i hooked up to a 97 Malibu, and i had to actually open the drivers door all the way, kneel down on the cement and snake my head up all kinds of different ways next the the pedals and look up to find it.

I have heard of people moving the aldl connector to somewhere else though.

Yup, Corvettes and GTO are like that. I always have to remember where the darned thing is ... Trucks are on just in front of the door jamb, F-Bodies are next to the center console, I forget where the Cobalt and Cavalier have it ... GM should use one place to locate it.

Yea...let us know how it works. (that stuff is $20/foot )

I have been routing mine to the left and behind the turn signal stem, over the steering comumn, behind the right side washer control stem, the behind the shifter and setting the MPVI PRO in the center console surrounded by bouble wrap.

This works real good for me. Cable does not interfere with driving (had like this at a recent track event) and it is secure in the console.

I imagine something will change when I get the wideband installed

Actually, it is not that much. You can get 5ft for less then $20. I bought the 2ft one because that is all I need. It should be here this week.

Thanks for the link, I need a splitter. I use an Aeroforce gauge that is plugged into the OBD2 port and I'd like to use HPTuners and the gauge at the same time.

Not sure if you can do that. Logic tells me that it would probably interfere with the data packets that the scanner is sending and receiveing. What you could do though is make a splitter out of 2 OBD2 cables, and put a toggle switch in it, to where you can leave it plugged in (highly 'not' recommended though) and just flip between your gauge and HPTuners.

I just ordered a 6' one from obd2cables website and plan to depin the power only and wire that to a switched power with my aem and aeroforce so i can leave my mpvi plugged in all the time without worrying about draining the battery.

Also the canbus is a device network that is paralleled right, so i can splice into this cables canbus and wire that to the aeroforce and aem? What i mean is all thd can high's wired together and all the can low's wired together. Not in a series config?

Sorry to take this thread off subject but i think fairly relevant due to being about the 90 degree obd2 extension
