Thread: 2015 Silverado 6.2 Dropping High Side Fuel Pressure

  1. #21
Its over 30lb/min at under 3000rpm.... that is pretty reasonable

As far as the O2's..... they look to be switching as expected until the truck commands PE. And you will see fuel pressure is dropping off from the commanded pressure.

Just for fun add 15-20% fuel and see if it carries it past the rail pressure drop off

I was not aware that airflow dictated rail pressure. I thought the rail pressure was referenced off of cylinder air mass and RPM.

Also, if my commanded PE is being met then why would I add more airflow?

you can only add airflow with hardware. you can't add airflow in a tune.

did you mean, why would you add more fuel? if your MAF is tuned properly, just command .83 instead of .87 and see if it can maintain it without pulse width going over 6ms. if PW stays below 6 your rail pressure should not be dropping. i have not viewed the attachments.

Sorry, i did not literally mean to add air flow. I mean add airflow to the maf calibration, since that is what the maf measures. Therefor adding fuel.

Bump.... Still open to others thoughts on this

Did you try what I ask??
    Where is the Wideband located?
I still think it's a fuel delivery problem

If anything get a log with the Wideband attached to the log

Drove the truck last night to get fuel. Truck would run flawlessly and take wide open throttle with no pressure drop. This is with no other changes to tune. Just out of no where runs fine.

I will try what you asked. How would you like me to add 15-20% fuel? PE or Maf table?

I would add it through the Maf table... don't recall from the log, but I bet around 6000hz it goes into PE.. do those changes and report back!!

Glad it's running better, but still think it needs some fuel.. look forward to your results
