I have MSD coils on my 5.7 Hemi Challenger. It has been suggested that I remove them before I hurt my engine. What is the Problem with having these coils on my engine. i need to know ASAP before I get it tuned.

I have seen them burn up and short the pcm coil circuit. The stock coils are more than adequate to over 1500 horsepower.
I've seen them cause a lot of small misfires at idle and light loads that will cause you to chase your tail tuning and troubleshooting. They are usually not worth the money, in most cases. Stock coils can support big power with adjustments to the dwell settings.

Agreed, seen nothing but problems with MSD coils on Hemi's and even the LS GM stuff. I always laugh when I see an LS guy waste a TON of money replacing the coils then a month later they are putting the stock ones back on because of misfires and failures. Also stick with stock style plugs, every Hemi that had the high dollar fancy newest greatest spark plug the local parts house was selling caused issues and they had to be changed shortly after install.
Thank you for the replies. I will change back to the stock coils right away. It was my installer that suggested I get MSD coils. The car has not run for more than a few miles and it became apparent I had problems so I shut it down and put it away in storage until I can find someone to tune it.
MSD coils are JUNK. Period.
