    Disabling B1S1 for WB tuning?

    Hi all,

I'm getting ready to start calibrating my VVE table using a wideband and I was curious if there were any extra steps to take if I wanted to use the factory pre-cat O2 bung to install my WB sensor for the process instead of getting another bung welded in?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

If you unplug the WB it will result in open loop on that side..
What I like to do in that case is force car into open loop via the tune (max out time delay and ECT)

Thanks for the input Ben!! I wasn't sure if tuning in OL for anything other than WOT was feasible.

Is this afr error method more accurate than the fuel trim method?

Using AFR or Lambda is far more accurate than the narrow band o2 sensors fuel trims. Trims are not active during open loop and full throttle, so a wideband is required there.

Fuel trims are better used once things with the wideband are done.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Good to know. I will tune with my WB and compare with fuel trims when I'm done.

    Thanks 5FDP!
