Wrong cam sprocket seting a P0340

Okay, I made a bonehead move... I put a cam in a CTS V for a friend and had to use a 3 bolt cam gear. I got a gear for a 2000 Silverado and after starting the car it set a P0340. After some research I found that the car need a 4x reluctor and the 2000 has a 1x. Can that be fixed with tuning or do I just need to tear it apart and install the correct gear? I think I already know the answer but I just need to hear someone else say it... Thanks

Yep, you already know the answer lol.

Needs the 3 bolt 4X cam gear.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

It's already ordered. I was just hoping since you can easily change that in the Holley system that maybe it could be done in HP. Oh well. Thanks!

even though its irrelevant to the matter at hand, the 2000 cam gear does not have a raised point to read, also if the wheel has the holes in it, the cam sensor will pick that up, but will be reading way to fast. cam counter will increment very fast
