I hope you have found the answer by now but if not, I have the answer. You have to edit a table called "Torque Max vs. RPM" in order to eliminate the rev limit in Neutral and park. The instructions are as follows:
In VCM Editor, with your F150 tune open, navigate to:
- "Engine" -> "Torque Management" -> "General"
- Click the button under "ETC Torque Management" labeled "Torque Max vs. RPM"
- Set all of the values to something higher than what the engine actually makes (I used 737 because it was already there for the lower RPMs)
- Save tune file and write it to your truck ECM
One caveat is that I don't know if the Neutral cutoff value also needs to be set. I stared there (just like you did) and so I left it where I set it (6200) when I made the torque management change. I have not tried with that value set back to the stock 4150 RPM value. I figured it shouldn't hurt to also have that set just in case. Good luck and I hope this helps you and anyone else out there that it looking for this.
As a PS: The reason that I was looking to do this with my 2012 F150 5.0 was because I also have a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0. I have a theory that since they both have the Coyote engine, with the correct exhaust setup, they should sound nearly identical. Because of this theory and curiosity, I have been doing some experiments with my F150's exhaust setup using an exhaust loop to equalize the bank lengths in the hopes that I could make the truck sound closer to what the Mustang sounds like. In order to do a direct comparison I needed to get above 4150 RPMs in park for my rev battle. More on that later if anyone is interested...
