How much should timing adjust at idle

New to hp tuning and I?m working on getting the idle dialed in, car runs and drives ok but want to smooth out idle I see anything from 28-16 degrees of timing idling if I rev it up sometimes is this normal

Lower your over/underspeed spark corrections tables if they are vastly different.

Like if they are -20 and +20 or even higher than that you need to lower them down to +/- 8 to 10 degrees.

Depending on the camshaft it may want 18-20 degrees or even 22-24ish degrees for a base idle timing to be happy.

Make sure the MAF and VE table for fueling is good too, otherwise the idle will only be so good if the fueling is off.

It could be more helpful if you listed the mods and everything done to the car.

Just looking at the tune the idle timing is set really high, like 26-28 degrees. It's kinda camshaft dependent though.

The VE table has a lot fuel removed down low in the rpm and your power enrichment is super rich for a NA car. With what I see it would be nice to know what is done because it surely needs some help.

Probably doesn't have enough injector with how high that engine will spin. Perhaps that why the PE table is overly rich and your VE is way high in the upper rpm.

As far as idle timing swing with things set okay and fueling good, timing is going to move around probably 8-10 degrees with a decent camshaft.

You might want to watch afr and duty cycle BEFORE you take it to the track. WOT= boom, if injectors are too small and afr is way off

If a 5.3 is out of juice with 25lb/hr injectors on a small camshaft. A 5.7 with a bigger camshaft that can rev will be out of injector with 28lb/hr.

And for sure with a commanded AFR all the way down into the 11's. You need to be asking for 12.3-12.5 and not mid 11's.

Under Fuel--Power Enrichment. Make the Enable 15kpa and change the Eq to 1.17. That is Stoich (14.63 in your tune) divided by 1.17 = 12.5 afr.
Just because you change the eq ratio doesn't mean your car is going to run at that afr. You have to adjust the maf and ve tables to get close to 0 afr error.
