    2014 Silverado L83 engine and trans tune

    just looking for some professional input and suggestions on my tune. the vehicle is a 2014 Silverado crew cab 4x4. stock 5.3L L83. 6L80e trans. the truck is on 33" off road tires. if anyone can tell me anything im missing or need to give attention to, id greatly appriciate it. so far the truck seems to run pretty well. its on 93 octane fuel also. ive attached a log file, the current tune, and a stock tune file.

    You should be able to run a decent amount more timing than that especially on 93. Then depending on whether or not you want better economy or more power there are other things you can do too. On the transmission side there's still quite a few things you can do such as inertia settings, pressure settings and so on. All depends on what you're after.

    im really just trying to get a good performance tune. i dont plan on doing any serious mods to the truck, i just want to have better throttle response and more power. would you care to show me what you'd have done? or what more you would do?

    I make a living doing this, so can't just hand out full tunes. Wouldn't be right for everyone who paid for the same thing I can tell you to raise the timing, smooth the table out - could pretty easily start with 3 or 4 degrees with 93. Variable cam timing will get you some - just cut stock some for mid and light throttle. PE settings will spruce it up. Cold air intakes really help these things out - recommend K&N's. A lot of people do run the Rough Country's or their cheap knockoffs - they do OK too.

    when you say raise timing and smooth the table out, where are you referring to in vcm editor?

    You really need to undo a lot of the changes. Torque model and VVE should stay stock. Only change timing in high and low octane tables. Just glanced at the trans - don't go above 9 in the inertia settings. They directly reference the shift timing tables which only go to 9. Guess it's possible to go higher, but I've never had much luck with it.
