    P59

What is it that makes the P59 ecm so ticky? I've done several now and I'd say about half will let me do the first flash through the obdii port no problem. the rest will only let me read and the first flash has to be done with a bench harness. then after that it will flash through obdii no problem.
about half and half also with stock vs aftermarket radios, one yesterday was all factory and had to be bench flashed first time.

BEST, SAFEST, is to use an off board programmer. They are SUPER cheap. Just pull the PCM hook up the harness, plug in the 110v and program away. Rare to have a bricked P01/P59 with it. When it does I just unbrick them.

How do you 'unbrick' one? Havent bricked one yet, but knowing theres a way to unbrick would be cool.

usually if you just leave them alone for a while they come back.

The last problem truck I had I made a DLC that went out to the PCM directly. You only need power ground and one wire. Completely fixed the issue and allows for fast flashing.
