I am in need of some advice, wisdom, and encouragement please?
My project is a 2003 GMC 2500 and I am replacing the LQ4 with a new L96 and of course the newer ECU/TCM From what I have learned I can get a stock tune from a Chevy Express van that came with the L96 and 4L80E (which happens to be my tranny) what I am unclear on is what ECU/PCM/TCM/TCU would be the best to use with that combination, what years that was available and the simplest to tune. My LQ4 Gen 3 xx411 PCM but it manages the transmission and engine.
Should I get an E38 and T(42?) as separate or what is recommended? The donor vehicle is a 2019 Chevy 3500 truck and I have the complete wire harness but no ECU, VIN, TAC, or pedal. The harness has the two larger black and grey ECU connectors and the smaller blue one.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
