    Camaro5.com "needing a tune"

I thought some of you pro's might get a kick out of this.

    "Tune needed
2011? needing base tune or more if anyone can help?

Previous tuner tuned the car so well it grenaded the motor 24
    Hours after the tune.

New motor is in and new tuner doesn?t want to start from scratch with new tune.

    Id1300 injectors
    D1x
    Cam
    6l80 trans

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you."

And then he got defensive when I told him, he might want to get a better tuner. I can't even figure out if the tuner is looking for a stock file (the very definition of starting from scratch) or a file where someone has done half of his work for him.

Damn and he's gonna argue with you about how that's not abbie normal.

They kicked me off there over 10 years ago after I told Jannety he was an idiot. Or however you spell his name.

Camaro5 forum is choke full of backyard habbyists, backyard mechanics and supposed dealership mechanics who think they know everything. Giving technical advise to people there is like talking to a bunch of teenagers who know everything. We all know, those who think they know everything, in reality, know absolutley nothing. I stopped engaging with that forum years ago as well. Too many idiots there.

Pretty much all brand- or model-specific forums devolve into their own alternate realities like that. I recently learned that in the Ford truck forums, a certain year range of the trucks are distinguished by calling the early ones 'bumpside' and the later ones 'dentside'. They invent their own languages because they never talk to anyone who isn't already in the group.

edit: see also 'NNBS RCSB' and my personal favorite, 'my denali', etc., no one is completely immune from the disease.

It's unfortunate because it turns into group think with its members. Any discussion outside of their beliefs is immediatley attacked. Makes it hard to get them to think outside of that. Thus causing the actual smart people to not post or engage in dialect with them, which causes the forum to slowly die. Its sad.
