My Camaro now has Auto Stop

I've run into a little issue after getting my 2020 Camaro SS (manual transmission) back from the tuner. Twice now, the car shut off at a stop and I get an auto stop message on the dash. The tuner can't seem to figure out why either. How can this even happen? Camaros don't have this feature.
I took it to have Kooks headers and BTR 220 camshaft installed. Then dyno tuned.

    Thanks in advance.

LOL.... Cool. Are you sure it's auto stop and not just dying then showing the message? Post a log and the tune. Make sure 0 pedal torque, ignition timing and engine torque along with anything auto stop related is in the channels.

I would post a log, but unfortunately I opted for the TDN option this time around and can't see any of the tune info. Kinda regretting that decision.

On the 20's the engine should read out if you get your own interface. If you have an interface in general you should be able to read it out depending on the software version and by that I'm referring to some of the newer software requiring a newer interface to read it. Otherwise, since they tuned it, see if they can figure it out and fix it because we can't do anything other than guess.

Does the car restart when you take your foot off of the brake pedal?

Strange. Try switching to sport mode. Sport mode is suppose to disable the auto/stop feature. So, it shouldn't shut off while in sport mode. This really sounds like the idle in the tune needs work. Again, this is just my opinion.

Negative. I have to turn the car off to restart it.

That did cross my mind this morning. I will try that when I drive the car home.
But, yeah, I agree with the idle tune needing adjustment as well.

Doesn't sound like it's actually autostop mode in what I think of as autostop (shutting off at redlights). Maybe just something in a left over piece of code that happens to pop up on an unexpected engine shut off.

I haven't had stalling issues with GEN Vs in some time, but if I recall correctly and if the car does end up stalling, it will say something like "auto shutoff" in the DIC. Reminds me of the Hellcats when you go to start the car, and the DIC tells you to step on the clutch and brake to start the vehicle, when the vehicle is an automatic. lol

A little update from my tuner. He confessed that the torque management is rather intrusive, for lack of a better term. He claims that the torque management will pull timing if it thinks it's making too much torque. Predicted vs actual. And that the second that I let out of the gas, TM pulls all the timing away, stalling the engine.
Conversely, when adjustments are made one spectrum, there is an opposite effect elsewhere in drivability. WOT it wants to yank timing too.
Sorry, still no data log files. This is about all I got.
Is this indicative of 2020 models and up? If he's lost, I ain't got a clue.

He needs to reduce torque in the idle areas within the torque model.

Alright. I will relay that message.
I'm so close to just breaking down and just buying a MPVI3 and buying credits. That way I can see what's going on myself.

If you're pretty serious, its great to have your own interface as well.

    Quick follow up.

My tuner learned that in 19+ models, GM changed parts of the torque based tune. That and changing the idle torque parameters from automatic to manual trans numbers resolved the stalling issue.

Did you have the numbers written down for the automatic transmission? How can that be checked

sounds like you paid for a copy/paste, and not a tune. WOuldnt have been an issue if he actually tuned your file versus trying to plug data in from other files

I can't cite the specifics, but the understanding is that an auto requires more torque at idle than a manual transmission. Simply due to the mass of torque converter compared to a clutch.

    Can't say I disagree, unfortunately.

I HATE when I see auto trans torque tables in a manual OS. Do some tuners actually think that's fine?
