What am I doing wrong? SD Tuning on cammed LQ9

    Hi guys,
Need some help. I got my MAF scaling all set, and have been trying to do SD tuning when i get free time.
Seems like every run shows me running 10% rich, i pull out 1/2 from the VE table, and just keep doing it, and keep getting 10% rich.
    Can someone help?

Also a surge right when i get into gear that I think is timing related, but that's the least of my concerns right now.
Overall it felt like the first couple of updates with SD tuning made the car run a lot better, but now i feel like i'm chasing my tail.
It's definitely being held back and not sure why, and i'm not sure just continuing to pull out the VE table makes sense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Jim

well i took run 11 and just multiplied the VE by the entire error. Seems better but still somehow rich in many spots.
I know everyone says it's continued trial and error, but does this all make sense? like keep going, datalogging, and update the VE table?

Also, on a cammed LS, is 30-40 degrees of timing normal? sounds really high to me, but this is what i needed to bump to in order to get it to run ok.

You need to plot your trims and apply them to your VE. You aren't doing that. I can tell by the shape of the VE. Don't just multiply by a random percentage based on what you think you're seeing. Apply the proper error correction.

It's not trial and error. It's collect data, apply error correction, repeat.

Understand, that's what i meant by "trial and error"... it's collecting the error data and applying it to the VE table. I guess there's no "trial."

10 to 11 I updated the VE curve based on the error in the LTFTs.
    Am I doing it wrong?
11 to 12 same thing and the data looked a lot better

OK, so i just did another run off #12 and my data is now all w/in 5% so it feels like it's getting better, and at least i'm not continually 10% rich.

I'm still getting a weird surge below 1500rpm and doesn't look like timing to me...

You always need to repost the new tune and log after an update.

I'll skip over 12... this is where I am now, running pretty good but still surging below 1500rpm
