    TDN Only - Dodge Charger

I have searched but was unable to find an answer to this question...

I have a customer I was going to suggest purchase an HPTuner to modify his 2014 Dodge Charger 5.7 hemi PCM. He needs to eliminate a code P219A unitll he gets the money or desire to replace the engine (vehicle has over 200k miles). When I looked up the supported vehicles, it says...

    "06-22 (1) Charger 2.7, 3.5, 3.6, 5.7, 6.1, 6.4 tdn only"

Does this mean he will be unable to modify his PCM? This is a stock, unmolested, untuned vehicle. No one has changed or modified the PCM as far as I know.

I would like to find out before he shows up today to pick up his vehicle. If he would be unable to change his PCM, there's no reason to purchase the tuner.

    Thanks in advance.

"If he would be unable to change his PCM, there's no reason to purchase the tuner."

the tuner is the person that makes the changes to the pcm

the tuner does so by connecting a laptop to the vehicle thru a interface (aka dongle)

    mpvi3 is a dongle

tdn ya gotta have someone else write the tune and send it to you...

then you can write it to the vehicle

2014 is the last year challenger that came with a unlocked pcm

    enjoy

Thank you for the response. In answer to your question, I posted here and in the Dodge forum.

I understand the tuner is the person doing the tuning, I'm sorry I assumed the reader would understand what I meant by using "tuner" as the HPTuner device/dongle used to flash and tune the PCM/TCM/ect

As described on HPTuners site, "TDN is a browser-based and mobile resource for tuners and their customers. Manage your customers, their vehicles, receive read files, and push tunes with one convenient tool. TDN makes it possible to reach more customers than ever."

My question was this... Can a person with an HPTuner dongle (for example I have an MPVI pro and a MPVI2+) use this dongle with his/her laptop to read/download, modify, and flash/upload the modified file to his/her 2014 Dodge Charger 5.7 liter HEMI without having to subscribe/join/log in to a tuner delivery network (TDN)?

If I understand correctly, "tdn ya gotta have someone else write the tune and send it to you... then you can write it to the vehicle"

What if the person wants to do the tuning, not have someone else do it for him/her. If assume correctly by your answer, this is not possible. What is a person to do if they want to tune their own vehicle?

anyone with a mpvi interface and a couple of credits can tune that car

a rtd is for when the tuner does not want the customer to be able to see or change the tune

TDN is an app that works only for HP Tuners DEALERS and their customers. If you want to tune your vehicle yourself, just don't use the TDN app.
If in doubt, multiply everything by 1.1.

You'll wait? What is that supposed to mean? Come on man, I'm not a dumb ass.

Go to the 'Stellantis (Dodge) Tuning and Diagnostic Support' page (https://www.hptuners.com/vehicles/stellantis-tuning/), expand the Dodge dropdown, scroll down to the "06-22 Charger 2.7, 3.5, 3.6, 5.7, 6.1, 6.4 tdn", and mouse over the TDN graphic, you get this... I had no idea what TDN was until I saw this, when I mouse over the TDN graphic it says "07+ TDN supported only"

It means its only supported in TDN for those years, prior to those years its only supported via MPVI1, MPVI2, MPVI2+ & MPVI3 devices. TDN(tune delivery network) is something tunershops typically offer/sell. Most end users won't have any need for it. Its mainly there just so our resellers can reference that information, if you own an MPVI device it really doesn't mean anything tbh.
