    idle surging and tcc lock up problem.

    I am trying to help a friend of mine that has had 2 different tuners on his vehicle but none of them did anything but wot and up the idle rpm and other things to make it drivable. So i was data logging what was going on and was way over +20% rich about everywhere. Don't think they ever even tuned the maf or touched the vve. Of course it was running on maf only also. I noticed all this since i was looking at it for the tc not locking up or staying locked up. Still haven't figured out that. changed the min and max for it and seemed to help a little but still being weird. If your going low tps and load it will lock, most of the time. If you didn't get it locked at low load and tps it will not lock. can't force it from vcm either. Sometimes while driving it won't even tell it to lock just shows off. I will post a log of a sd log run to show what the transmission is doing. I can't figure out if its an electical problem or something with the transmission or torque converter settings. Just weird sometimes the computer will do the normal thing of engage then say its on other times no engage and just off.

    The other thing is surging mostly at idle. I Thought if i would tune the vve close enough and turn on dynamic it might right itself but when enabling the maf it will surge in gear at idle. The spark is all over the place and very low also. When coasting to an idle it goes to 6.5 degrees and not sure why. Its not showing any adaptive retarding it that i could find so need a little help with that. When i got it somewhat tuned in sd mode it would idle fine in gear and would hold around 15-16 degrees timing once it got out of the 6.5 it wants coasting. I know the maf needs a lot of tuning and rich still. I did a quick change of it and wasn't near enough yet. There is a lot of knock retard going on at weird times too. When i get time will put the wideband on and check everything else out. Was just trying to get it to drive normal without the surging and the converter actually lock up.

    it wouldn't let me upload the log i wanted but these 2 should suffice for now. got called to work.

    6.2 525 crate motor
    stock camaro intake and injectors
    .525 lift 226/236 @50 cam
    4l60e with 3000 stall
    e38-t42 ecm/pcm

    Im confused about your lockup thing. Do you have a certain part in the log to look at? I seen at one point it wouldnt lock up but you were sub 30MPH and lockup wont lock only in 4th till 46-50 depending on mode.

    MAF/VE could be tightened for sure but not completely off in left field. Soften your over/under spark.
