L96 first drive logs - where do I start?

    Hello HPTuners world,

I have a used l96 that I swapped into a buick regal with a 6l90. Despite taking me some time to complete the project, the wiring of the E78 ecm and using hptuners was really simple. Except for those yellow ground wires for the powertrain/starter relays...

Everything works, it's just, I don't know what I'm doing. I have kept basically everything except for the front MAP sensor (if you don't know, don't worry about it, weird early gen4 stuff I guess, TIAP), ethanol content sensor and I don't have some random cables like CEL, brake apply, etc. I have cats and both pre/post o2 sensors. I wanted it to just work, and so far it has.

As for HPTuners, I have only deleted VATs, and modified some trans stuff according to the first ~10 minutes of this video. Everything else is untouched.

I have attached my data log, I primarily wanted to know the following things:
    • Why does hptuners (vcm scanner) start beeping when I start going fast?
    • How do I adjust my gas pedal response (it's from a 2013 chevy cruze and starts at 19%, is that weird? Car idles like it's at 0%) - Primary issues is that it seems sensitive and weird holding speed (but that's probably engine and trans things, most likely transmission)
    • When I let off the gas it kind of hangs and feels a bit awkward
    • Is my car running too cool? The fans are wired to both kick in and they seem to do a great job but it looks low. I can adjust it as I am using an external fan controller (E78 things lol)
    • Any basic tuning resources, it seems to run nicely so I'm not sure what I need to do
    • Do I need to make a thread in the Transmission forum to figure out the awkward shifting? It needs refinement when I try to give it gas as it jumps through gears more than I think it should?

Ideally I'd like to write changes one at a time. Here's a video of it driving. Thanks for reading.

    Thanks, attached.

I see my LT B2 is pretty red. I'll start by looking to see if there's an open vacuum port or something. Edit: most likely maf as I completely changed the intake.

I'll stop editing, but that tune file is from yesterday was before my drive today. Really novice question, do I need to re-download the tune after driving it? I'm thinking I should.

Tip. Don't use the term download. Don't know if you are meaning downloading from ECM/TCM to laptop or laptop to ECM/TCM/ Use the terms read (ECM/TCM to laptop) and flash (laptop to ECM/TCM).

Thank you, I was asking if my HPTuners file changes itself after I drive the car. Is it beneficial for me to always read the tune file from the ECM after every drive?

The ECM can't change the tune tables on it's own. It can change things like fuel trims and adapts but the core calibration doesn't change unless you change it with the editor and flash the changes.
