    Supported 4.4L/4.6L XLR ECM(s)

The Gen IV supported vehicle list says 06-07 4.4L & 4.6L Cadillac XLR's and STS's are supported. Looking at service information, it appears that in 2007 all 4.4/4.6 XLR and STS's are E67 ECM's, but in 2006 the 4.4 is an E67 and the 4.6 is not (E40?) Not sure what it is, but they are definitely not the same controller. So is a 2006 4.6 XLR supported? STS has the same issue in the same years, only the 4.4L supercharged engines are E67 controllers in 2006. I'm looking to pick a 4.6 VVT ECM that I can tune, not stuck with either year ECM yet but the 2006 hardware seems more plentiful. The 06 XLR/STS ECM on the 4.6 appears to carry back to 2004, could these potentially be supported as well? If both are supported, which is a better choice from a calibratable parameters standpoint?

Thanks for your help and a great product

    Ed

bill...are you sure about this, because my 06 4.6 sts will not pull up, and it shares the xlr 4.6 ecm. i would love it if i'm wrong on this.

Its as easy as checking our supported vehicles page http://www.hptuners.com/products/vcmsuite_vehicles.php to see what we do & do not support.

yeah...it's on there as supported, but it doesn't read. then i think i spoke to keith, and he said the 06 4.6 wasn't, but to get him codes off ecm. trust me, it doesn't read.

I assume he asked you for a VCM suite infolog. Did you send it to him by any chance?

yes. we did all that, and deleted vehicles in file, etc. something with it being CAN based and them having problems with it. then kieth sent this. i was just wondering if anything had changed.

Brian, looks like we only support the 4.6 in the 07 models for STS.

I can read the supported vehicle list, thank you for that helpful suggestion; however it appears to not be quite correct.

The 2004-6 4.6L in the XLR and STS used a Siemens ECM, not a Delphi controller. The 2006 4.4 supercharged V engines all used the Delphi E67, then everything switched to the E67 in 2007. My guess is you have not done the same level of work on the single application Siemens controller that you have on the used-everywhere E67.

So, I suspect that the supported vehicle list actually should read something like this:

    2006-7 Cadillac XLR-V, 4.4L
    2007 Cadillac XLR, 4.6L
    2006-7 Cadillac STS-V, 4.4L
    2007 Cadillac STS, 4.6L

Maybe I could get a couple free credits for having discovered a hole in the supported vehicle list

    Thanks,

    Ed

Sorry to dredge up a really old post but we have a project that's using a 2004 XLR 4.6L. That is not on the supported list but I'd like to know if it ended up getting supported in the last 2+ years.

    Thanks,
    Chris

The ECU itself isn't supported, but we can just swap the 07-09 ecm into a 04-06 XLR, right?

4.4 is supported. ECMs are completely different so you would need a wiring harness swap at the very least.

2005 XLR, it isn't supported on list nor is it possible to read out. Is there anything else we can do to disable VATS as in European XLR no more replacement keys are available
