Knock sensor to Pro link +

I have an aftermarket knock sensor kit that outputs to megasquirt with a 0-5 volt signal. I want to utilize this signal to the prolink + to detect knock in VCM scanner. If I go to vcm scanner and choose the correct red/blue analog input channel, right click and choose transform. I can choose user defined to translate the input voltage. What should be my input and output values be? I choose the parameter for a knock sensor with voltage as its metric. Thanks!

You mind to share a log of that? Are you using the plex? I have a plex and never could get it dialed in just right. I hear they are supposed to have an update soon.

What system are you using? Id like to see a data log of that in use.

Shout out to Boris https://viatrack.ca/ for having the tools to actually do this. Im working with a jeep 4.0 which is pretty bland for sensors particularly the knock sensor. The older models late 80s early 90s had one but removed them due to false readings. Luckily they kept the location in their castings so I could fit one in.

The KnockSenseMS kit he sells takes the input of a knock sensor and outputs to a 0-5 volt signal typically for mega squirt. When knock is detected it dips to 0 volts for about 30 to 200 ms. Vcm scanner picks it up perfectly from the prolink analog inputs. It was pretty sensitive to begin with but the control box has a sensitivity knob you adjust.

jeep zj 1st AFR run.hpl Heres the log to see it in action. I would ideally like to have the math parameters to count each dip to 0 volts in a table but haven't figured it out yet.

I can check on the math if you want to post your scanner setup.

You can play with this. I have it setup to count if voltage drops below 500mv to show it functions. Not sure why the shading is not working. Without having real knock it would be hard to test the graph.

Perfect, Thank you! Im adjusting the timing advance next here but only 1 degree at a time. Not sure if I should tune it at 91 or at 87. Don't really see myself using 91 all that much

move your timing in 2 deg increments
