Yeah. And if I change OS's to one that supports flex then my VIN will be invalid for model year.

yea I have a bung off the y pipe from the headers. Had hard time keeping the scanner going it kept stopping on me. However, I've been running around for several hours and no-knock retard. The only thing that I've notice that doesn't seem right is the lack of Torq down low doesn't spin the tires that well or at all sometimes.

I still don't see the wideband in the log.

Why does that matter? HPtuners problem?

Because the ABS and SRS modules are VIN coded. NHTSA thing probably.

I wonder why they won't let you change the VIN though. Do the newer OSes change the pinouts or something? Or can't talk to the old ABS/SRS?

Liability it's safety equipment. They don't want people swapping modules on their own without the right tools to initialize and verify.

Swapping vins is no problem, but it is my understanding that the best OS or PCM swap with that model car will still end up with everything but ASR working. I can't personally verify this, but that seems to be the best case scenario, and requires a lot of work.

I can flash a flex OS, or swap ECU's, but my VIN isn't allowed to be put in due to the model year. That's about the extent of things I know to try, so I gave up.

I have the wideband connected to the pro link setup through can bus. It works on the gauge and every time I repoll for parameters it freezes. is this the most common way to hook this up?

CAN doesn't work on your ECU. Have to have a wideband gauge that outputs analog and use the pro link cable. Hopefully you have MPVI3 so that the pro feature set is included. If MPVI2/2+ might as well output the analog to the A/C pressure or EGR sensor. There's also serial-usb.

There are lots of things you can't do with just hpt software. The open source gen 3 stuff available fills in the blanks. In your case, however, after swapping the vin to a different OS, I'm not sure if hpt licensing would be compatible. Some people end up just using hpt for logging and make their actual tuning changes with other software when this becomes a problem.

Figured it would be something like that. Thanks for looking into it for me, though

Good. Just checking you didn't have the CAN only model.

Runs awesome the added timing made a big leap in power; however, it still leaves from a stop like a Buick lesabre after about a few mph it kicks in the power like something is holding it back. I did a few pulls from a dead stop. Also noticed on the engine side the drivetrain abuse mode is at 1 mph isn't it supposed to be 255?

What does the wideband gauge indicate visually during WOT?
