    Power drain of MPVI3?

    I just purchased a new MPVI3.

If I leave it plugged into an OBDII port overnight with the car dead, what is the parasitic drain on the vehicle battery? I.E. 0.1 amps, 2.0 amps etc.

    Thanks

There is a thread about the MPVI2 and HPT said not to leave them plugged in. I was dealing with a problem where I'd come out to a dead battery. I am pretty sure it was the MPVI3 but I was also dealing with a bad key (would come out in any position) and an ignition switch that would keep my truck on if you didn't twist the key all the back, like even in the off position the acc could still be on. I fixed the key and the switch, I stopped leaving the MPVI3 plugged in, no more dead battery if I didn't drive the truck everyday. It was nice to leave it plugged in for daily logging but I am past that part with my tune now so it isn't a big deal. Would be nice to leave it plugged in so you don't have to unscrew the wideband all the time.

all MPVI devices draw its power from the obd2 port, so its not advised to keep it connected overnight.

I measured it myself and answered my own question.
The parasitic drain of my MPVI3 is about 60 milliamps. The VCM is about 20 milliamps. Total about 0.08 amps.
