    2017 6l90 swap with 2013 e38. Tcm question.

Ill start off with I have not purchased hp tuners yet but will in the future. I was talking with a tuner with about my swap but I seem to be doing all the heavy lifting in researching what will and wont work so I might as well just do it my self.

    Its going in a 67 c10.

I have a 2017 e78 and 6l90 (24279077 on the sticker) I picked up a 2012 e38 was told by psi conversions that wouldnt work. So I was instructed to get a 2013 e38 which I did and I grabbed the matching tcm just in case. The pin count on the tcm connector is different.

I am wondering if my best route is to change the os on the 2017 tcm or put the matching 2013 stuff together. I am not able to find out if there is any differences in the transmissions from 13-17.

I have read you can not vin change the tcm with hp tuner, but Ive also read that doesnt matter on these tcms any ways.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Edit; the 2013 is from a 6l80 4x4 while the 6l90 is a 2wd

12-18 and possibly later all use the same 6L TCM, 24275873. Don't know why PSI told you the 12 E38 wouldn't work with the 17 6L TCM unless it is the 17 calibration You should be able to flash any 12+ calibration in that 17 TCM. . The VIN in the TCM shouldn't matter.

Hmm, interesting maybe there is a half year in the 12 so they don? like to gamble.
So my best route is to flash the 17 tcm to the 12/13 ecm calibration. Perfect.

Edit; my phone keeps auto deleting this when I try to edit. Not sure what?s going on.

Do I need to find a 6l90 calibration or would a 6l80 work as well?
