    Is Onedrive File Corruption Possible?

I'm reading a claim that one-drive being on a computer using HPT can either contaminate, corrupt, put files into a tune. But from only one individual. A Webb search including this forum results in no such examples.

    Can this be confirmed?

I've seen nothing but problems with customers using one drive tbh.

    Thank You!

I'm surprised my Webb searching pulled up no hits on it, or how to prevent.
There is only one member on this forum whom I have seen warnings on said.

Can you give some examples of symptoms and suggest how to prevent? Can it be an issue from just having it on the same PC?
I never use it to store hpt files.

    Thanks Again

Main thing I see is with issues to the settings files when saved there, causes things in editor to stop functioning properly. We recommend against using one drive, particularity for our files & software.

Works fine here. When you exit editor or scanner, a new config file is written and backed up immediately, working as intended. There's probably a ton of people using it and aren't even aware because of how it's all well integrated in newer versions of windows.

It works fine until it doesn't.

Always use and edit your file locally. Then as a backup, you can use Google Drive Sync or other to "backup" or "sync" a folder on your local disc to the cloud drive service. This usually works fine without any issues.

But if you are opening, editing and saving files from a cloud drive service such as One Drive, Google Drive, Drop Box, etc, you're going to run into issues at some point. Some applications don't do well with edit/save over the internet which is what you are doing when working from a cloud drive service. Yes corruption can happen this way and likely will at some point.

Thanks. I don't use GDrive for anything. Just like any other business servers any day now there could be a news release that all google information has been hacked. It may already have, I wouldn't be surprised if google hushes it.

I do not have an internet connection when I work with HPT and save everything on home storage not connected to internet. I have always considered onedrive bloat ware and cull it. Nobody is bullet proof though.

some people, not saying you, but some people... they do not use google drive or drop box or any of the other cloud storage services...

they save tune files to their desktop or in its default location, the documents folder...

but they do not about one drive or that those folders are not local
