    Engine Config Hemi Dual Ignition

    Hello!

I was taking a look around my the VCM editor and noticed the Engine Config in the first General Tab (ECM 324). I know my hemi has 16 spark plugs, two for each cylinder. Shouldn't the Dual Ignition be enabled by marking it with a 1?

    Has anyone enabled this?

Probably wouldnt do anything, probably just a bitmap for marking engine size and a couple other things that was put in as a storage of information for DTC readers to call up for engine size information and a couple other things and holds no other significance. Don?t be too surprised to come across incorrectly labeled parameters or incorrectly mapped parameters in HP Tuners either.

No because 1 coil fires both plugs. Years ago I ran a cammed 5.7L on a 4.7L harness with some PCM tuning on the 4.7L PCM. The 4.7L PCM needed no changes to run the coils on the 5.7L. The later 4.7L engines with dual plugs will also start and run on any NGC 4.7L tune. I had a 2003 Dakota that I put a 2012 4.7L engine into years back as well.
