    Scanned car again and confused

I just did a scan after playing a little with the knock retard tables (see previous thread)

    A few things i've noticed...

    1. Trans Current Gear shows 3 but it doesn't physically shift into 3rd gear until much later.
It turns to 3 at around 6500 rpm but it doesn't physically shift until 7000 on the tach as well as it's commanded to shift at 7000 rpm on the 2-3 shift.

    2. As soon as I floor it, timing goes in the negatives then it slowly climbes up and it does it on the shifts as well.
This shows me it's torque management but I don't see anything I can do to fix that.
This scan is with Stabilitrac and TC off.

    3. I've tripled the Knock Decay rate table, should I quadruple it instead?

    Here's the scan http://www.grandsontario.com/tmp/111.csv
    Stock File is here http://www.grandsontario.com/tmp/myg6stock.hpt
File used in scan is http://www.grandsontario.com/tmp/myg6tqgone.hpt

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Sorry Overclock, can't get your file to load. I can read your "excel log" of the run, but can't open your tune.

Car goes lean when you are going WOT though. Do you have a wideband hooked up? Does the new G6 have a MAF? Is it cable or "fly by wire" for the TB? Looks as if the car is actually rich down low, then you are getting the lean spike because it is pulling fuel, wondering if that crossover is causing the KR?? Would like to be able to read your tune, but maybe one of the guys can get it open and figure this out!!

Under Torque Management there is a table called "max torque". Have you raised those #'s? Put them to max if not...

I get "File not supported" on my version of 2.1.16. Are your HPT files really supposed to be 3.3MB each?

I didn't realize it wouldn't open on other hptuners yet.

I'll be posting for a bit because this car isn't behaving like GA's and GP's meaning it's a little different in ways and capabilities of tuning.

I'm making posts to basically document which i'm sure others will have similar questions once this platform is more popular.
I'm creating the legwork since i'm probably the first person to try tuning the 3.6 from the G6

MMGT1... I'm thinking the car is too rich at the moment and I think the knock would be cured with higher octane.
I'm not too worried about the knock quite yet. I've added much more Knock retard capability than the stock PCM had which made my KR numbers higher.

foff67, since you can see my files, do you have any comments?

That's what I said. Looks rich down low. Higher octane is going to make it richer. Pull a couple of % from the 5500hz and down. Looked like it startes aroun the 4000hz mark, but try it and see how it looks....

it really would be much easier if you just posted your scan file in hpl format rather then csv...so much easier for ME at least to review your log.

Thanks for the input but I didn't change anything intake wise like the TB or the MAF itself, so I like to leave the MAF settings alone. Again, i'm not looking at knock yet because i'm personally not too worried about it yet.
That's the next thing i'll be tackling along with fueling. I'll make a post once this is figured out.

MAF should be done with a WB I know. I spent the last year on NB's and fixed my entire tune in two days with the WB man. Can't believe how easy it made it. And don't trust GM's tune on the MAF. Every car is different...

For sure, but it's a G6 man as well as my daily driver.
I don't care about bang on LTFT's etc...
I'm only trying to unlock a little power that I feel this motor has.

John, would you like me to come in and we'll hook my WB up to your car and fix it up? We could use your program and I can install my WB in you system in about 20 mins....

No drilling or anything, it just needs to go into your stock location, bank 1
