Is there anyway to get Sirius1024 back on this forum?

Sirius1024 helped a lot of Newbs on this forum, to include me. Is being banned a lifetime thing? This is a great place with a core of exceptional tuners that donate lots of their free time, and granted they may nip at each other occasionally, that is not uncommon for people who are passionate and really good at what they do.

It seems he had an exchange with somewhat of an oddball that didn't even use Hptuners... IDK, but he wasn't an oddball and had a lot to offer.

Anyway, I miss him and his desire to help and his expertise.

I didn't even know he got banned, I wonder what for now.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Actually, it was probably more about exposing the private background of the person he was arguing with, even if that person was a nut.

And he could be a real A.H. if you didn't acknowledge his brilliance and instead thought the people with 20+years of professional experience might know more than he did.

Considering the vehicles i have come in for retunes from a local guy with 20+ years experience id say not all of those were good years including the present. Hint: Its one of the tuners you see in all these podcasts lately, the almighty.

Thought i may showcase some of the best of 20+ years exp. The ls9 cam file was a boost tune on a ss silverado, the basemap is a bone stock 14 silverado(the maf was way off according to my wideband), The read file is a simple 13 silverado with truck norris and headers(check the vt model). A wideband was used in none of these cases but the 2 with stock air cleaners needed maf tuning? I have many more, at least 2 boosted vehicles that washed cylinders including the ss. Have a tune from a stock cam 04 5.3 truck that was rolling coal from the same guy.

I liked Sirius and think they need to let him back in. What did he say? He was helpful to new ignorant folks that join. Most of the folks here seem to attack the newbies or play games before being helpful. I ran across a YouTube video this morning talking about this kind of thing and posted it in the lounge. Ironically Bill closed the thread for some reason, he has PMs blocked so I can't ask him why.

As for a 20 year vets. I don't remember where I heard this, but it was a guy saying he has been doing it this way for 20 years and another guy told him, well you have been doing it wrong for 20 years. Tuning on these reversed engineered OSes isn't really based on facts. The understanding of how it works is hidden, unlike, say a standalone. Over the years things get figure out on what works and information is leak from engineers that understand it. I think you find that folks tuning these things don't understand how it really works and what the "right" way is to do it, but the pros have figured out what works. You see different ways to get it done and big ecos debate on how you are supposed to do it. I assume this is what 6.0 is talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVqbIm5-4vs&t=4164s it is clear Matt has no idea what he is talking about in some of these questions. He doesn't understand how it works but understand what works. Matt seems interested in learning what he doesn't know. Sirius throws out different ideas to solve/do things. Which is good, even if you don't agree with him. In the car community there are a lot of myths that become facts, and the experts repeat them. It is good when folks challenge "facts"

This forum is interesting for sure. Not that forum are a thing now with facebook groups taking over. In the old days when cars forum were peaking you'd find the owner and the trusted admin crew would run off folks they didn't like or didn't share their views. Some sites were pretty toxic and mod/admin took their "power" a bit to seriously. This forum is kind of wild. You have a company that sells products, fairly pricey, and has a forum. They don't seem to police or monitor the forums though. Members can be toxic over and over again and it is allowed. I am surprised how HPTuners doesn't seem to care about protecting their brand in this regard. Someone spent 500 bucks buy your product and in their first post they get hammered and insulted by the long time members. Kind of crazy. Interesting that Sirius got booted, I wonder what he is going to do with his time now that he isn't helping folks with free tunes.

I learned a lot from Sirius1024, and I believe he leveraged his knowledge and spent his time in this forum to help others in this forum without even asking for a penny unlike other Tuners. Have a lot of respect to him, and I believe it is a loss to this community. Hope he will be unbanned soon.

I sent in a support request to unban him. Since they don't really look at the forums

Yes it is a lifetime ban, we explained to him directly the reasoning.
