    Cold start emissions reduction timing

How do I get rid of cold start emissions reduction timing when I first start my car up. I don?t care if it?s purpose, my build needs it gone as it reduces the timing so much on start up and driving that it is undriveable. Thanks in advance.

What I don’t understand is why is CSER timing more prevalent during a warm start, I.e. if I start and stop the engine multiple times over a short period of time. When I warm start the car it will say my timing is from the CSER timing even after it is at operating temp and it takes out like 20 degrees of timing below 2.5k rpm. Any help or information regarding how this works will be nice. Thanks in advance.

I can't say for certain, but I just looked through my tune and see a table under spark->advance->maximum spark- startup. Looks like it limits maximum spark some regardless of ect. You could try making some changes there. My tune, which is a canned sct tune has max spark limited to 15? when hot for the first 20s

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy and haven't had much time to work on it. This is the tune in questions. Give me you thoughts and opinions. It is still a work in process but this tune has been the best running tune by far aside from the CSER garbage. Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind I'm far from an expert, I'm just learning myself, but I would ty this. I added some timing to your max startup table. it was quite low compared to minelow ignition idle advanced.hpt

If you have a log, post that up too. There are a couple items in the tune I have thoughts on, but without seeing a log I would echo similar to Hubes suggestion - I would start by maxing (or close to it) both the sartup and low load tables (set em to 60 or somewhere around there, I believe that's about what stock is). EEC will calculate spark as the lowest value of any of the spark tables plus modifiers. Currently, you are clipping your startup spark to the max in the startup table until the ERT expires. For example, say at the 180 degrees column, after initial engine fire, and ERT counter starts, you're limiting spark to -3 at 0s and -10 by 80s. Is that what you're seeing? You also have some IAT modifiers but they look to only be pulling around 7ish degrees at operating temp, and I'm not sure if these are active in this strategy during startup or until after startup timers expire. I?ll definitely take a look at that start up table because that looks like my issue. It?s far as I?m aware there shouldn?t be any IAT ECT ignition adders as I?ve tried to limit those while I?m tuning time. I get back to it today so I?ll post a log before and after. Thanks much.

Changing the values in the maximum spark start up table solved my issue! Thank you for the help.
