Wonder on a 2008 Colorado if you can turn vats off to no longer require a chipped key? I've tried it on the 07+ gmt900 stuff but it seems the bcm won't allow it. Any tips?

What ECM ids that? It's not an option on some of the GM stuff in this time period, at least the E69 in the 2008-2010 Cobalt SS.
See if "Universal Patcher" ( https://github.com/joukoy/UniversalPatcher ) has a patch for it. If not, if you want to send me the file, I can likely do it for you.
