Gen 3 Viper Aftermarket Radio Error

    Hey all,

I am trying to flash my 2004 Viper for my paxton build (working with Havik on tuning. I reached out to them but not sure when I will hear back). I did some research and looked like on some early GMs there was an issue and it could brick the ecu during writing.

I disconnected my aftermarket radio, pulled the fuse for the amp and still get the same error. After acknowledging the messages it has me cycle ignition and then it looks like it is starting to work but then shows failed. I have attached a couple photos.

I even plugged in the factory headunit and tried it again and get the exact same errors. Come up trying to read or write (although I am able to read after cycling ignition).

Any ideas or is there a way to disable the aftermarket radio warnings?

Should add im using the latest version of VCM editor and an MPVI3 which did all updates on last night.

    Thank you

Only options I have are write entire or do not write.

I did ignore the warnings and after clicking through it shows failed (2nd photo above).

Files are stored locally but also backed up via onedrive but I thought about this as well. I can open the tunes and view them all no problems but either way I am going to transfer them to a portion of my drive that isn't backed up to onedrive and try it again. My tuner said they havent seen this before so if I cant get it sorted I may need to work directly with HPTuners to hopefully find a solution.

Will update after I move the files to a location which isn't associated with onedrive at all.

    Thanks

Well I got it to work. Thanks to Havik for suggesting to try the BETA VCM software. Once I installed this the flashing worked right away (still got the same message about aftermarket radio). Not sure what the issue was with the stable version.

I did notice the stable version I installed (v.5.0.4) appeared to be a 32 bit software and the beta was a 64 bit. When I installed the BETA I also had to update some windows .net packages but after that all was good.

I did have the tune in a different folder (that isn't tied to one drive for this) but I tried with the stable version of vcm editor with the same file and it did the exact same failure as before.
