This can't be just any random adapter. MPVI3 expects CAN L/H and GND/PWR at specific pin positions on the ODB connector. The adapter would have to be designed with MPVI3 in mind.
i doubt the OBD side would be different as it's universal in the automotive world, my question is more of has anyone tired the off brand china ones as they are all made over there

If it's designed for BRP it should work I would assume.

one more question for you please, what does a locked ecm do when trying to read?
