    MPVI2 repair question

    Good afternoon guys! My MPVI2 decided it was a good time to die...right before racing season of course. No longer connects, no lights on, emits a light squealing sound and doesn't smell the best. Pretty obviously a hardware issue. I've worked with customer support, and in my latest email string they said I could send it in (issued an rfi) and they would look at it to see if it could be repaired, but if not, I would need to buy a new one. As far as I knew... HPTuners stopped doing any repairs. Is there any reason for me to even send this thing in? Anyone have any experience with that? Thanks!

    We usually try connecting to the device to see if we can bring it back to life via forced firmware update, or other means. We do NOT offer any sort of physical repairs though.

    Thanks Bill... I'm positive it's a hardware failure. I'll save the money from shipping it to you and just get a new one. What's the process of moving my current licenses to a new MPVI 3?

    Here's the thing with that. If you just "buy a new one" it will come with 0 licenses on it and 0 credits. I would recommend replying to the ticket and tell the tech you'd simply like to upgrade/replace the device. He should be able to provide you with the next steps. You'll still need to send in the device either way but at least this way your licenses/credits stay in tact.
