2021 Mustang GT Roush super charged Torque moderation fundamentals

I have the trans pretty much where I want it. I'm using ALT 0 for sport mode/track mode which seems to work very well. Ive reduced the inertia multipliers slightly at part throttle between shifts 2 through 6. There is a few other things I will try.

As far as torque modulation is concerned I have left those stock. I have read some conflicting trains of thought on this. Some say to reduce the torque modulation with super charged cars. Other information says to increase it. It seems the tables for Alt 0 are set to 698lb.ft maximum on the Y axis. In some of the higher gears the bottom row on the X axis comes very close to maximum at 7000rpm. Increasing this to what some suggest (25%) would overshoot the Y axis maximum.

It seems to me you would want no more than 600lb ft. Is this the right line of thinking on this? Thanks!

Remember that ford holds the highest value of the lookup value if it?s higher than the max on the axis. The y axis is input torque so if you exceed that it will hold the highest value in the table above that input level.

Ive always set torque modulation to something lower that I know the transmission can handle, like 450 ftlb. However, Ive come to doubt my logic there as I learn. The torque modulation only occurs during the inertia phase of the shift, AFTER the torque transfer phase. That means the engine torque has already been transferred to the new gear when inertia phase and torque modulation begin. That being the case is it really buying us anything to reduce shift torque after the engine torque has already been transferred? I dont think so but Im also not increasing my torque modulation values just yet.
