    8HP75 ZF8 TCM VIN Change

Doing a 392 Wrangler swap into my 2023 Gladiator. Does HP support changing the VIN on the TCM? This is what one might call an "OEM" swap. Though the Gladiator never came with a 392. I have the 392, 8HP75 Transmission and MP3022C Transfer Case out of a 2023 Wrangler. I have obtained all of the other parts from Mopar. Wiring harnesses, cooling modules, all fluid lines, radiator Panel as the cooling stack "sticks" forward about 2 inches more. The core support is the same. This isn't a crate motor. Aside from the PCM and TCM that are not my Gladiator VIN. The DTCM Drive Train Control Module aka Transfer Case Control Module is unique to the MP3022C transfer case. I purchase one "virgin" from Mopar so will need to write a VIN into that also. Thanks for any help!

So first off, this isn't nearly as easy to do as it should be. There are a lot of programming things that need to happen to make this work and HP Tuners supports absolutely none of it... Once everything is programmed, you can use HP Tuners for calibration editing, but as far as getting the correct OS and VIN numbers into your Jeep. They will not help you there.

I am the owner of Tom's 4x4 Superstore and we offer kits for folks just like yourself. We have been though all of this and can help you get your swap up and running. Unless your Jeep currently has the MP3022C behind the 3.6 (will Full Time 4wd option on the T-case shifter) then you probably won't want to use that case from the 392. The entire interior wiring harness would need to be changed, BCM programmed, DTCM programmed, etc in order to make that work. Programming the new DTCM you bought with YOUR vin will simply program it to your current transfer case. Just like programming a 392 ECM with YOUR VIN would put in the 3.6 OS and that will not run the 392 even if you flash in a 392 Calibration with HP Tuners. There is A LOT that goes into custom programming to make this all work.

Back to the transfer case... you CAN make your current one fit the 392 JL transmission with some parts changes... so it would be best to just keep that. The MP3022C is honestly a junk transfer case anyway. They burn up all the time even in Factory 392 Wranglers.

You said you bought the wiring harnesses too? So I assume the entire underhood (dash to headlight) harness for a 392 JL? if so, just FYI, depending on what options you have with your gladiator, it will not function 100% as it is. There are wiring changes that have to be made to that harness to make everything work.

For programming, I can help you there and get everything running cosher.

Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] or give me a call at 423-702-5777. Our conversion kits are based heavily on the same idea that you had, but we've been working on them for about 2 years now and there was A LOT of ironing out to do to get everything figured out and working 100%.

Just an FYI you do not need to change the VIN in a TCM, Just need to make sure it has the proper calibration IE:OS
