    Scanner question L5p

    I have a 2018 Duramax, I would like to look at how the transmission is shifting. I have a shutter after it shifts into 3rd. I don't know if its the converter locking or something else. I have a laptop with windows 10 and an original mpvi. Will I be fine hooking up to the truck and scanning it, or will I need an mpvi 2 or 3? I don't want to tune just looking to use the scanner.

    You need a MPVI 2 or 3 and I don't believe you can even read any of the data from the Ecm unless its unlocked and for certain you wont see transmission shift speed or tcc info without the tcm being unlocked.
